Location
Diahroniko is located on the main road between Zante town and Volimes, at Skoulikado commune at the northwestern part of the island. It is a traditionally designed stone & wood made residence with a tile roof.
Inside, a variety of antique objects and old-time scenery recreate a feeling of our island tradition. In our yard, tens of tables offer a lovely view to the Skoulikado valley, as it extends up to the slope of Vrahionas mountain.
A place of endless beauty
Our restaurant is built on a greenish land at the countryside, away from the mainstream crowded areas of the island. Skoulikado has no beaches, nor intimidating hotel complexes. Its beauty comes only from Zante’s natural setting and its people, who are dedicated to their land and its fruits – the most precious ingredient of our cookery.
Our village, of only 500-600 inhabitants, is known for its church, Panagia Anafonitria, with a 100-stair-high belfry and the temple of St. Nikolas; at its bedrock, they say, a portrait of the Saint was found. Albeit small, the town has a robust cultural activity, organising music and dance festivals, theatrical performances and events, many of which we were honoured to host at our restaurant.
Any visitor of Skoulikado should follow the so called “Riza route”, aside the mountain’s slope and make a stop at Diahroniko upon their return from the main road.
